This section provides installation information that is specific to smart card reader drivers for Microsoft Windows. Vendors that supply their own reader drivers should make each driver a member of the SmartCardReader setup class in the INF Version Section of the driver's INF file.

- When upgrading but not clean installing this driver in Windows XP
and Windows XP SP1, the ThinkPad SD Storage and Standard Host
Controller Bus Driver (Q830908) [osda06us] must be installed.
Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2 does not need the ThinkPad SD
Storage and Standard Host Controller Bus Driver (Q830908) [osda06us].

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Note:
If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to
update the software. To determine if you should update the software,
refer to the Version Information section.
Manual Install
1. Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
The default location is C:DRIVERSWIN4IN1.
3. For Windows XP, click Start and then click Run.
For Windows Vista, Click Start, select All Programs, select
Accessories, then click Run.
4. Click Browse.
5. Select the folder where the package was extracted in Step 2.
6. Select setup.exe.
7. Click Open.
8. Click OK.Ricoh
9. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Unattended Install
This is for system administrators' use only.
- Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the
files.
- At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -s option.
